My name is Evan Klaves and I am from Illinois. I’ve been hunting for as long as I can remember, but it all truly started with early mornings and cold boots beside my Grandpa Denny. He taught me the value of patience, respect for the land, and what it means to truly earn a hunt. Those first days in the woods weren’t just about chasing game, they were about building a lifelong passion.

As I got older, that passion carried me far beyond my home woods. I’ve been fortunate to chase game with a bow through the wilds of South Africa and Namibia—experiences that tested everything I thought I knew about hunting. There’s nothing quite like tracking a kudu through the thornveld or waiting silently for hours in the blistering sun. Those trips didn’t just challenge me physically; they reminded me why I love this lifestyle.

When I’m not in the field, I work full time as an electrician, but the hunt is always on my mind. Whether it’s tuning my gear, studying maps, or reliving past trips over a campfire, hunting is part of who I am.
