Living the Whitetail Dream: Matt Myers

My name is Matt Myers, and I’m proud to call Tuscarawas County, Ohio home. I was born and raised in the country, where the outdoors became my way of life. From a young age, I was in the woods with my dad, uncles, and grandpa - they were my teachers and mentors, passing down a deep love for hunting and fishing.

After high school, my passion for the outdoors shifted into a focused pursuit of whitetails. I’ve been fortunate to harvest several beautiful bucks here in Ohio over the years. In 2018 and 2019, I took things out west to Colorado and Wyoming, chasing velvet mule deer through the rugged terrain. While the adventure was unforgettable, whitetails have always had my heart. There’s just something about them that keeps calling me back.

In 2016, I started writing hunting articles for Lucky Buck Mineral, a brand I’ve always respected. Today, I manage the pro staff team for Lucky Buck - a dream role that allows me to mentor, lead, and stay deeply connected to the hunting community.

I’m blessed with a beautiful family - my wife, and our two kids, Ava and Easton. They’re my world, and I’m grateful every day for their support, especially when it comes to hunting. 

In 2023, I started using Scent Armor and was immediately impressed by how much I could get away with in the woods. It quickly became a go-to in my gear bag, and I haven’t looked back since. I also regularly meet up with Michael from Shaeff’s Sauce - not only is his sauce the real deal, but he’s the kind of guy who shows up when you need him. When my boat broke down on Atwood Lake, Michael came out with his pontoon to pull me back to the dock. That’s the kind of people and products I love to support.
